Author Lucius Shepard called it "as fine an example of worldbuilding as you'll find this side of Gene Wolf's Torturer books." The sequel to Shadowbridge, LORD TOPHET garnered even more praise. Paul Witcover, in SciFi Weekly, noted: "His pages bristle with the kind of lively energy I associate with Miyazaki films, & his delight in the stories his characters hear and transform and retell is palpable and contagious." Fantasy Book Critic proclaimed that "not only is Lord Tophet a richly rewarding experience, it is also one of the few must-read fantasies of the year." Publishers Weekly (starred review) called Frost's collection ATTACK OF THE JAZZ GIANTS & OTHER STORIES “one of the best...of the year." Frost has been a finalist for the James Tiptree Award, Nebula, Theodore Sturgeon Memorial, World Fantasy, Hugo, and International Horror Guild Awards. His previous novel, FITCHER’S BRIDES, (Tor Books) was a finalist for Best Novel for the World Fantasy Award. Frost teaches writing at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA.
